Rosemarie Lindstrom

Born in England, the family immigrated to South Africa in 1948. Educated in South Africa and after finishing Matric was trained as a Display Artist under designer Harold Kilner at Display Services.

Then went to work with Ruth Russell-Edmonds assisting on the Christmas Fairy Tale Pageant in Joubert Park for two Years. It was here that I learnt the art of mould making and casting.

Then took up the position as in-house Commercial Artist for Sealy Posturepedic for nine years.

Studied sculpture at Wits Center for Continuing Education on a part time basis for five years from 1985 to 1991.

Joined Gael Neke in her studio in 1992 as a student of Ceramic Sculpture. 

Later commissioned to paint Murals for Conference Centers and private homes. Have sold pieces of sculpture to collectors of art in South Africa and Europe.

At present I run a studio where I teach ceramics. 

The person whom I learnt most from was my late father who lectured at the London Academy of Arts and Crafts. 

Exhibited in joint exhibitions under the banner of APSA, The Institutes of Architects:
